Back to School Fashion from Southern Jewlz

We asked Randa Yezak, owner of Southern Jewlz Boutique in College Station, TX, to give us the update on Back to School Fashion for the fall. Here are Randa’s picks on the must-have items for guys and girls and some tips and trends to watch for when picking new items for your fall wardrobe.

The big trends this Fall will be pieces in a distressed, heather gray color, LOTS of fringe and asymmetrical hemlines. All things that feature a Boho and 70’s feel! Here are a few examples of how these trends can come together in the perfect outfit!

The heather gray color is super in for Fall along with asymmetrical hem lines.  Fringe will continue to be a fashion staple as we head into the cooler months as well.  This heather gray tunic looks great paired with black leggings and booties, both with fringe detail.  Note: Booties are great to wear with dresses, leggings and even jeans that are rolled up and not tucked in!

Layering is a great way to transition into Fall.  The Boho trend is still super popular as seen with the bell bottoms and fringe vest.  The tunic underneath is actually a Summer daytime dress that we turned into a fall layering piece.  You will also find the gray distressed color in this outfit that we will be seeing all this Fall. The 70’s feel is coming back!

Here is another example of the asymmetrical hemlines, the heather gray color, and fringe (the cow skull necklace and vest).  All things that scream Fall 2015!

The 1970’s feel is coming back, so is anything Tye Die!  This long sleeve dress in black and gray would be perfect with a Fall bootie!

Embroidery, especially details along the sleeves and bottoms of shirts and dresses, will show up in lots of Fall pieces this upcoming season.  Simple 3/4 sleeve dresses like this make it so easy to have an outfit come together with just one piece!

Picture 6
Maroon is another popular color that we are seeing in many Fall lines.  Small floral print along with pockets on tunics and dresses will also show up in many of the women’s fashion pieces!

It is also all about the gray for guys, but going into Fall, it is just as important for guys to find quality staple pieces that they can use for back to back seasons.

JEANS! BKE Jeans a great quality jean to make a staple in any guy’s wardrobe as they won’t go out of style in between seasons. Plus, The Buckle does in house alterations!  I personally love the BKE Tyler shown above because they are wide leg and fit over boots or boat shoes super easily. See More BKE Jean Styles Here

I obviously can’t include an article about hot and popular men’s fashion items without giving my good friend, Mr. Dale Brisby, a shout out.  If you do not know Dale, I encourage you to search him on youtube or instagram.  My store is a proud retailer of his line of Dale Wear.  His t-shirts are so soft and comfortable and represent his personality through funny sayings.  Pictured above are the Pow Pow, Riding Bulls & Punchin’ Fools and Wild Bull Mustang Tees.  All available online at or at  Be sure to tag yourself with his official hashtag #DaleBrisby.

The same color trend applies for the guys as well as the girls – any color is encouraged as long as it is a shade of gray!  This isn’t unusual for the Fall months leading into winter, however, wearing multiple, different shades of gray will show to be more prominent this Fall than ever before.  Some of my favorite Men’s Gray Items for Fall are:

Vintage Hooded Varsity Jacket by American Eagle
Nike SB Stegan Janoski Max Gray Shoes
All in One Gray Plaid Shirt by 7 Diamonds
