Internships are a great way to gain additional work experience and develop upon skills in your field of interest. While most internships tend to be offered during the summer, be sure to check out these opportunities that are offered during the fall, both short-term and semester long.
NCBA Convention Internship: NCBA has an opportunity for students to assist with the Cattle Industry Annual Convention and NCBA Trade Show. This industry event boasts over 7,000 attendees and a trade show with more than 350 booths.
NCBA intern positions provide a unique opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience and to interact with leaders from every segment of the cattle and beef industry. Although this is an unpaid work experience, NCBA will provide the student’s convention registration, lodging and certain meals while at Annual Convention. National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) Internship: NJAA offers an extended internship position for one college student each year, allowing them an inside look at what it takes to organize youth events across the country. The internship runs from January to August 2016 and allows students to spend eight months assisting with junior activities and traveling to a number of events. Aimed toward college sophomores, juniors or seniors, applicants must be enrolled in an agriculture-related major and have the ability to move to Association headquarters in Saint Joseph, Mo., throughout the entire internship. Animal Agriculture Alliance Internship: The Alliance is currently accepting applications for interns for the fall of 2015. Candidates should have a passion for agriculture, willingness to learn, and excellent oral and written communications skills. The application is open until all positions are filled.
