Three college seniors have been named Sure Champ Summer Interns for BioZyme® Inc. Jacob Johnson, John Hogberg and Garrett Maloney will work to promote the Sure Champ brands, learn more about marketing, sales and provide unique outreach opportunities to young people this summer on the Sure Champ Summer Show Tour.
“We couldn’t be more excited about the interns we have lined up for our Sure Champ Summer Tour. All three of these boys’ knowledge base is backed by a variety of different backgrounds and experiences within the industry, but more importantly, they are incredibly passionate about not only the junior livestock industry, but also about the kids that make up it! We cannot wait for you to meet them at the events we will be attending,” said Kylie Patterson, BioZyme Marketing Brand Manager–Show Livestock.
JacobJohnson is a Mississippi native who has found his college home in the Midwest. He started showing Herefords when he was 14. He attended Eastern Oklahoma State College, where he was names an All-American on a highly competitive livestock judging team and is currently attending Kansas StateUniversity, where he is also on the livestock judging team. He was on the team that just won National Champion Meat Evaluation Team. He is majoring in Animal Science and hopes to find a career in sales.
“I’m excited to travel to the junior nationals and meet people, expand my network and learn more about selling these products and how to best communicate with people,” Johnson said.
John Hogberg hails from Saskatchewan, Canada, where he and his parents own and operate Bar-H Land & Cattle, an Angus seed stock operation. He attended Butler Community College, where he was a member of the National Champion Livestock Judging Team and now is a senior at Oklahoma State University, majoring in Animal Science with a Business option. Although returning to the family operation is an option post-graduation, he would like to explore some career opportunities within the industry first.
“I’m looking forward to being able to travel and take in the major junior nationals, representing BioZyme and Sure Champ this summer. It is an opportunity to branch out my network and shake hands,” Hogberg said.
Garrett Maloney is a senior at Oklahoma State majoring in Animal Science. He comes from Hooker, Oklahoma, in the pan handle and is from a multi-generational family with roots planted deeply in agriculture and the livestock industry. He hopes to continue that legacy after he graduates by pursuing a career in the livestock or livestocks how world.
“This internship will allow me to be involved in the industry I am passionate about and work with livestock, attend shows and be involved with kids, ”Maloney said.
The interns will spend time at the BioZyme head quarters in Saint Joseph, Missouri, learning more about the company, products and preparing for the Summer Show Tour before hitting the road this summer. Be sure to meet the interns at one of the following events:
