Sure Champ Welcomes Josh Brockman

book

One word that best describes how you work:
Constantly

Most memorable show win:
All of them are truly memorable for me, but the Champion York barrow in San Antonio in 2012 always sticks in my mind. It was one of the first major breeds I had won myself/as an ag teacher at that point in time. It also had a tie to my history with Daniel Schley and was his first breed champion at a Texas major and that meant a lot to me.

How keep your to-do list?
Notes and I-cal on iPhone.

Best advice?
Put God and your family first.

Advice to ag teachers?
Get with mentors and experienced ag teachers that have been successful and learn as much as you can from them. Never stop learning or get complacent.

Advice to students?
Work as hard as you can day in and day out. Those days and the little extra things you do to push add up to making success.

We’re excited to welcome Josh Brockman to the Sure Champ team as the Show Products Marketing and Growth Coordinator. In his new position, Brockman will work with 4-H and FFA chapters and agricultural instructors to help them reach their livestock project goals through programs like Sure Champ in the Classroom. Brockman will also be working to grow Make Your Own Luck camps and clinics. These events give young livestock enthusiasts the opportunity to learn about nutrition, general animal care, showmanship and grooming from leaders within the industry.

“BioZyme has always been committed to supporting youth in agriculture both in and out of the ring,” said Crystal Blin, BioZyme Director of Marketing. “Josh brings a wealth of information to our team, and will be an excellent resource for FFA teachers, 4-H leaders, parents and young people.”

Brockman has a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Science from Texas A&M University. He previously worked five years as an Agricultural Science Teacher/FFA Advisor for Spearman Independent School District in Spearman, TX; and three years as a Farm Manager Assistant at Schley Farms in Fayetteville, TX. Brockman raises show pigs on his farm in Montgomery, TX with his wife Carrie and is a member of the National Swine Registry.

Brockman can be reached at jbrockman@biozymeinc.com or 816-596-8786. For more information on getting educational resources and activities for ag students delivered directly to your inbox, visit https://surechamp.com/scclassroom/.
